So last night we had a great time with friends at Bistro Byronz. Unfortunately, my dinner was sub-par. I order the grilled pork chop that had been marinated in Abita root beer. Sounds strange, but not unappetizing. Unfortunately, after putting a VERY sexy sear on the outside of the chop, the chef decided to finish it in the oven for at least 5 minutes too long, because this chop was very tough and dry. Not enjoyable in the least.
The pork chop was served with a side of red potatoes cooked with onion (very good) and grilled asparagus (very good). I would have rather just had a big plate of potatoes, but oh well.
For dessert I split a bread pudding. Nice consistency (which can make or break a bread pudding for me), but nothing special about the flavor or the sauce that resembled condensed milk in consistency.
The only thing redeeming about the night was the company, which I hope to have dinner again with soon, but at a different locale.
